Inflammatory modulation of the response of bronchial epithelial cells to lipopolysaccharide with pretreatment by montelukast

چکیده

Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, is the most prescribed nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug used as an add-on therapy for asthma. Besides its effect on blocking action, montelukast has been proposed to have secondary properties. This study aimed investigate modulatory of expression major genes involved in airway inflammation (TNF, IL6) and remodeling (MMP9, TGFB1) response lipopolysaccharide (LPS) vitro. The selected was measured by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction 0h 24h after LPS stimulation cells pretreated with montelukast. Montelukast found significantly attenuate increased TNF IL6 gene expression, mild MMP9 no TGFB1 upon LPS. results our indicate that patients would adequate acute microorganism-induced inflammation, so additional effects should be better exploited.

Bacterial-induced release of inflammatory mediators by bronchial epithelial cells.

This review focuses on bacterial induction and release of inflammatory cytokines and adhesion molecules by human bronchial epithelial cells, with special reference to Haemophilus influenzae, a pathogen commonly associated with chronic bronchitis. Studies investigating the mechanisms underlying bacterial colonization of the airways and bacterial-induced chronic airway inflammation have suggested...

Maresin-1 reduces the pro-inflammatory response of bronchial epithelial cells to organic dust

BACKGROUND Exposure to organic dust causes detrimental airway inflammation. Current preventative and therapeutic measures do not adequately treat resulting disease, necessitating novel therapeutic interventions. Recently identified mediators derived from polyunsaturated fatty acids exhibit anti-inflammatory and pro-resolving actions. We tested the potential of one of these mediators, maresin-1 ...
